Hay to Advise Rapid Feedback Specialist TruRating

May 29 2026

Former dunnhumby Chief Executive Simon Hay has joined digital point-of-payment customer feedback specialist TruRating, as a Board Advisor.

Simon HayTruRating, which has teams in the UK, North America and Australia, helps clients in retail and hospitality turn real-time customer feedback into performance intelligence, via patented point-of-payment technology and seamless digital integrations which have so far between them collected more than 1.2 billion ratings.

Hay brings more than four decades of experience in retail customer data, and was the first employee at dunnhumby, playing a key role in the development of Tesco Clubcard, and then leading dunnhumby's expansion into the US via its Kroger partnership. He spent twenty-five years at the loyalty data pioneer, followed by three as CEO of London-based property and household intelligence company Outra, and is Executive Chair of behavioural AI company Synerise. He also runs a consulting and coaching service called HeyHay.

In his new role, he will serve as a strategic advisor to TruRating's leadership, supporting continued innovation and expansion.

'Simon has had a profound and lasting impact on the retail industry,' says Georgina Nelson, CEO of TruRating, quoted on www.retailrewired.co.uk . She continues: 'What has always stood out to me is his ability to connect customer insight directly to commercial growth. When you truly understand your customers, in the moment and at scale, you unlock a completely different level of performance. I'm genuinely thrilled to welcome him to the team as we continue this next chapter together.'
