Visible Technologies Launches TruReputation Measure

US social media analytics firm Visible Technologies has launched an index which ranks the sentiment of online content regarding an individual or company, with a focus on search engine results.

The new tool is part of the firm's TruReputation suite of online reputation management solutions, developed to help organizations manage their reputation in search engine results. It is designed to help increase and manage brand visibility by building relevant search referrals, improving conversions and measuring success.

By using a proprietary set of algorithms, the TruReputation Score reveals the sentiment of online content relating to an organization's search results - the higher the score, the more accurate the reflection of the brand.

'The influx of consumer-generated content on the web, which can be highly biased or inaccurate, has caused the dynamic of search result rankings to rapidly fluctuate,' said EVP Jim Webber. 'This makes search reputation management even more of an imperative for individuals and businesses than ever before.'

Based in Seattle, Visible Technologies has offices in New York, Boston, and Washington, DC. In 2007, it received $12m in a second round of funding from WPP and venture capital company Ignition Partners.

The firm is a founding member of ORMA (the Online Reputation Management Association), which has been launched to help shape best practices and standards.
