Synovate to Close US Call Center

Synovate will close its call center operation in Ottumwa, Iowa, USA in November, with the loss of 80 part-time jobs and one full-time.

Employees were told on Wednesday that the office at 102 S. Market Street will close on November 15th, around two and a half years after it opened its doors. Synovate says the decision is due to wider economic factors and has nothing to do with employees' productivity or quality of work.

The company will offer employees the opportunity to continue with it by working from home, according to reports in www.ottumwa.com and www.heartlandconnection.com .

Ottumwa has already seen major job losses at employers John Deere and Praxis Mid-America.
