Online Video Researcher Expands to US

December 15 2009

Australian firm iPOWOW! - which provides tools for gathering opinion through online video - is to expand to the US with the opening of new headquarters in Silicon Valley and the appointment of two new members of its management team.

iPOWOW!'s technology platform enables brands to convert their online videos into a two-way communications and research tool, allowing viewers to give their opinions and feedback on the content in real-time and via an online 'voting' interface.

Customers can engage with brands directly and voice their thoughts on products and services in real-time. Distribution to a user's social network creates a viral effect which brands can track through detailed analytics reports which offer demographics and customer intelligence.

As part of its expansion, the firm has appointed Mike Loftus and David Ozer as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer, respectively.

Most recently, Loftus was co-founder and CEO of mobile marketing firm Broadcaster Media, prior to which he was CEO of inFreeDA, a venture backed firm that was eventually sold to AT&T.

Ozer joins from integrated media firm Highroad Entertainment Group where he worked as CEO, before which he was EVP for Liberty Media's Starz Media (formerly IDT Entertainment).

'The addition of Mike and David will allow us to continue the steady growth we've experienced over the last 18 months,' states CEO Gary Davis. 'Since its formation in Sydney, iPOWOW has tested its technology successfully with several high profile institutions in Australia. Based on this performance, we are optimistic that this success can be duplicated and expanded in the US market.'
