New Social Media Offering from WiseWindow

January 5 2010

Web measurement technology firm WiseWindow has announced a new system for mining and analyzing opinions expressed in social media, and isolating mentions of specific companies and products to produce actionable reports.

Named Mass Opinion Business Intelligence, the service provides decision support to execs and researchers by means of ten standard syndicated reports that track customers' opinions, needs and likely future buying behavior.

The tools, protected by three patents, employ a 'domain-centric' approach, crawling the Internet for qualitative subjective opinions and objective facts and converting them to quantifiable, structured data.

The company says the system has already proved successful in the entertainment, automotive, and health and beauty aids industries, as well as for political use.

CEO Sid Mohasseb says the tools means his company can arrive at knowledge of a kind never possible before: 'For years, people have talked about the potential of sentiment analysis to measure the millions of opinions expressed on the web, but problems of context, word usage, intent, and the sheer volume of data make it largely unusable for strategic business decisions... Mass Opinion Business Intelligence can discover things like total share of opinion, how it changes over time and how it correlates with share of market.'

The company is online at www.wisewindow.com .
