New Products, Markets and Faces for PhoCusWright

In the US, travel industry research specialist PhoCusWright Inc has initiated its largest expansion since the company was formed in 1994 - with the launch of an education and training division, and a new research subscription service, as well as the appointment of 12 new staff.
PhoCusWright delivers qual and quant research on the dynamics that influence travel, tourism and hospitality distribution. The firm's marketplace intelligence provides segmentation, sizing, forecasting, trends, analysis and data on consumer travel planning behaviour.
To complement its primary research, the firm also produces several conferences and trade shows in the US and Germany, and partners with conferences in Canada, China and Singapore. Today, PhoCusWright has launched a global travel technology trade show, TRAVDEX, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The firm's new Learning Solutions division has been set up to enable travel industry employees to tap the firm's intelligence through a series of masterclasses, workshops and custom training products.
Separately, PhoCusWright's new 'Research Subscription: Financial Edition' service provides financial analysis and insight into the econometrics of travel and hospitality. The new edition covers marketplace sizing and trends, as well as technology changes, combined with market expertise, financial data and analysis.
To meet increasing demand, the firm has also hired 12 new members of staff:
- Nina Bartholin, Senior Market Analyst - formerly Director, Online Travel Agency Operations (EMEA) for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
- Susan Duzey, Director, Research Sales - most recently Senior Director, Sales at Travelport.
- Jake Fuller, Senior Research Analyst, Finance and Analytics - joins from Thomas Weisel Partners.
- Virendra Jain, Manager, Business Development, APAC - previously served as Head of Marketing and PR for training institutes in India.
- Florence Kaci, Director, Sales, EMEA - joins from Pegasus Solutions, where she worked as Director of Sales and Account Management.
- David Juman, Editor, Research and Learning Solutions - previously held editorial positions with several publishers, including Simon & Schuster.
- Chetan Kapoor, Research Associate - worked as a travel journalist for several years, including for the Indian travel trade publication, Express TravelWorld.
- Jennifer Lavenhar, Senior Manager, Event Sales - most recently Sponsorship Director, Structured Finance for Euromoney/IMN.
- Tahnee Perry, Director, Event Sales and Marketing - previously held positions with Stay Aspen Snowmass and Aspen Skiing Company.
- Patricia Rasore, Director, Latin America - was most recently Latin America Regional Director for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE).
- Tommy Tian Shu Bo, Market Analyst, China - was previously Manager, Research Department for GCiS in Beijing.
- Haruo Ushiba, Director and Senior Analyst - was a founding member of Japan Aviation Management Research (JAMR) and held various management positions with JAL Group.
In addition, Peter Comeau has been promoted to the post of Senior Director, Sales, in charge of all research sales. He joined the firm in 2007, having previously worked as Relationship Manager at Orbitz Worldwide.
