PA Sells Energy and Environment Wing

July 12 2010

Consulting, engineering and technical service firm Tetra Tech has announced a definitive agreement to buy the US-based international development consulting business practice of London-based PA Consulting Group.

Terms of the acquisition, which is expected to close during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, were not disclosed. Tetra Tech will purchase PA's international energy and infrastructure consulting services, a practice that generates about $35m per annum in revenue and employs around 125 people. The latter will join Tetra Tech's Technical Support Services segment, doubling its energy management consulting business and bringing it market research and modelling expertise.

With approximately 10,000 employees worldwide, Tetra Tech supports government and commercial clients with solutions focused on water, the environment and energy. About half of the business serves the U.S. Agency for International Development, focusing on energy sector reform, regulation, and utility performance improvement in emerging economies.
