Peanut Labs Adds Sample for Asian Social Media

US-based Peanut Labs has launched Social Media Asia Sample, which provides access to an online population of social media users in China, Japan and South Korea.

Social Media in Asia  is growing fastFounded in July 2007, Peanuts Labs is based in San Francisco with offices in Seattle and New York City, from which it offers researchers access to social media sample through partnerships with more than 400 networks and applications.

According to Nielsen, social media use has seen 'unprecedented growth' in Asia Pacific in the past year, and Korea is one of the most social media engaged countries in the world, with 95% of the Korean Internet population logging on to the country's main site every month.

Peanut Labs is hoping to expand its respondent base in Asia to 250,000 unique users by the end of the year; with each participant profiled on basic demographic attributes such as age, gender, level of education, employment status, family composition and household income.
