ABCi and Spreed Team for Mobile Usage Data

November 4 2010

The Audit Bureau of Circulations' interactive unit ABCi has teamed up with mobile publishing technology firm Spreed, to provide independently audited mobile usage data generated from smart phones, e-readers and mobile browsers in the US and Canada.

ABCi and Spreed will offer independently audited mobile usage dataABC provides verified information for the media buying and selling process, and maintains an online database of audited circulation information and a growing array of readership, audience and web site usage data. Its ABCi (ABC Interactive) arm audits web sites and digital ad-based technology.

Earlier in the year, ABCi entered a partnership with mobile media solutions provider Handmark, to provide detailed, audited mobile usage statistics for publishers and advertisers.

Through its latest partnership with Spreed, clients will be able to use ABCi's new 'm.Audit' report to analyze metrics such as those for app downloads, mobile audience by device type, unique visitors by device, and content shared via e-mail or Twitter.

'As more publishers enter the mobile market, it is becoming increasingly important to include mobile usage numbers as part of newspaper circulation and usage statistics,' states Spreed co-founder and CTO, Suhail Mirza. 'Spreed is dedicated to working with trusted third-party audit services like ABCi to ensure that these numbers are verified and reflect publishers' growing reach.'
