Former Sky News Man to Head Nunwood Comms

Former Sky News journalist and Arsenal Football Club aficionado Jem Maidment has joined the London office of insight agency Nunwood as Head of Communications, responsible for all internal and external comms globally.

Jem MaidmentNunwood operates worldwide from offices in London, Leeds, New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Sydney and Auckland.

Last week, the firm promoted Andy Moore to the position of Global MD, replacing Phil Rushfirth who is moving to Los Angeles to drive the US business.

At Sky News, for the past six years Maidment has produced and edited shows such as Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes, News at Ten, The Live Desk, and Sky News Today with Dermot Murnaghan.

Before this, he worked on the launch of ITV Teletext's in-house sports desk, before being promoted to Duty Editor. Earlier, he served as Chief Reporter at the Ham&High newspaper in north London.

During a varied career, he has also ghost written columns for the former Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown and footballer Paul Merson, as well as several books on Arsenal FC including the Official Arsenal Encyclopedia.

Commenting on the appointment, Director Tim Knight said: 'With a communicator of Jem's calibre onboard, we will be able to collaborate more closely with the marketing community on an increasingly global level.'

Maidment added: 'Nunwood has a great story to tell - and I intend to tell it.'
