ABCi Teams with Polar for Mobile Audience Audits

The Audit Bureau of Circulation's interactive unit ABCi has teamed with Polar Mobile, to provide audited results for publications in the US and Canada which are read on mobile platforms.

This is ABCi's third partnership with mobile technology firms to provide independently audited mobile usage data, following its links with Spreed and Handmark earlier in the year.

Polar Mobile offers a proprietary software platform, SMART, which helps businesses extend their presence across smartphones, e-readers and mobile browsers. The firm has developed more than 400 apps across Apple, BlackBerry and Android devices for the country's leading publications.

The mobile market is becoming increasingly important to content providers: according to ABCi's recent survey, 79% of larger newspapers and 86% of larger consumer magazines now format their sites for mobile devices.

'The need for independent verification of mobile usage is critical, and we are pleased to work with Polar Mobile to provide audited usage figures for this emerging market,' stated Michael Lavery, ABC President and MD.
