Health Specialist Hires and Adds Panel

In the US, physician panel provider ImpactRx has appointed former Merck exec Mark Degatano as Senior Vice President, Client Services Operations; and has expanded its range of specialist iPhone panels with the addition of pulmonologists.

The firm helps clients with their launch and post-launch market strategies using proprietary panels, custom research and high-level analytics. The ImpactData services offers a real-time picture of the relationship between physician prescribing and influencing metrics including promotional activity and sales rep quality.

President and CEO Richard Altus says the respiratory market 'has been re-energized and will become increasingly competitive with the introduction of new treatment alternatives', citing recent and anticipated drug launches by Merck and Forest in an already highly competitive market. He adds: 'ImpactRx's unique point-of-promotion and point-of-treatment research model will provide our clients unmatched insight into the impact of their promotional efforts.'

Pulmonologists join twelve other specialisms already on the panels, including Primary Care, Oncology, Endocrinology, and Neurology.


Degatano will lead the firm's Advanced Analytics, Custom Market Research, and Syndicated Analytics support teams. He spent 24 at Merck, most recently as Vice President, U.S. Human Health Customer Insights, providing analytical support for the company's developmental and promoted products in over 20 therapeutic areas. He began his career as a consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc. providing analytic and market research services, and holds a BA in Mathematics and an MA in Statistics, both from Boston University.
