Antiques Specialists Pool Data

Art, antiques and collectibles data provider WorthPoint has partnered with eBay data specialist Advanced Ecommerce Research Systems (AERS), to create what the firms describe as 'the most extensive Internet resource' for antiques and collectibles.

Through the agreement, the eBay data provided by AERS will be added to WorthPoints 'Worthopedia' database of antiques and collectibles transactions, which includes information about price, description, images and approximately 150 million transactions gathered from GoAntiques.com, TIAS and many of the world's auction houses.

In addition to this transaction database, WorthPoint also provides members with the option to consult recognised experts in the antiques or collectibles field, known as 'Worthologists'.

WorthPoint CEO, Will Seippel, comments: 'Our agreement with AERS will support buyers and sellers to establish the value, or worth, of an item by referencing hard data from actual transactions, and will allow them to trade with confidence - online or in the auction house.'
