Raydar Debuts AsiaPac Mobile Panels

June 8 2011

Raydar Research - which was recently founded by former Pulse Group COO Kym Wong - has launched new mobile panels in Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore.

Kym WongWong set up Raydar Research in March, to offer data collection through mobile and online platforms, and to access respondents in countries where Internet penetration is low but where mobile penetration is relatively high.

His firm has also introduced a mobile survey platform called ECHO that allows simultaneous distribution of its online surveys on mobile phones and PCs.

Together with its existing Malaysian offering, the new countries increase the size of Raydar's mPanels to 15 million panellists.

mPanels respondents are provided with a free tariff, and are rewarded with mPoints which can be redeemed for airtime or to upgrade their mobile devices.

'We believe the size and reach of mPanel helps ease some current challenges from blending samples and multisource panels,' states Wong. 'We will continue to conduct research on our mobile panels to better understand respondent behaviour, interview length, non-responses, sampling frame and the general effects of mobile web survey.'
