Quantcast Hires Google's Duggal to Drive Development

US web metrics firm Quantcast has appointed former Google product manager Jag Duggal as Vice President, Product Management.

Jag DuggalLaunched in 2006, San-Francisco-based Quantcast provides web site owners with traffic, demographic, lifestyle, business and geographic audience data, to help them understand and profile their best customers, and target similar prospects across the web.

Duggal joins from Google, where as Group Product Manager he was responsible for the brand display product suite, as well as overall strategy for the Google display business. Before this, he spent more than a decade at management consultancy Oliver Wyman as Principal in the Digital and Strategy practice.

In his new role, he is tasked with the strategic positioning, development and management of Quantcast's product set, including its targeted display advertising and audience measurement tools.

In December, Quantcast and software firm Clearspring agreed to pay $2.4m to settle class-action lawsuits claiming they used Flash cookies to track web users without their permission. At the time, Clearspring said it had never collected or stored 'personally identifiable information' and that it settled the case to avoid long and costly litigation, while Quantcast reported in 2009 that it had moved away from using Flash cookies.
