Social Media Specialist EvoApp Names Frey CEO

In the US, social media business intelligence provider EvoApp has appointed entrepreneur and venture capitalist Kip Frey as President and CEO, succeeding co-founder Joe Davy who remains with the company as Chief Product Officer.

Kip FreyFounded in 2009, EvoApp uses proprietary technology to link unstructured social media data with business performance metrics, to help companies understand the impact of one on the other.

Frey joins from musical analysis technology specialist Zenph Sound Innovations, where he served as CEO, prior to which he was a General Partner at venture capital firm Intersouth Partners.

Earlier in his career, he was EVP and General Counsel of Ventana Communications Group, having sold the company in 1994 to Thomson Corporation; and President and CEO of OpenSite Technologies.

In addition to his day job, Frey is a Professor at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy and Duke Law School, teaching intellectual property and entrepreneurship.
