India-based TechOrigami Software has launched Unmetric, a social media intelligence benchmarking tool, which mines and distills data around the Facebook pages and Twitter IDs of leading brands.TechOrigami was founded in 2010 by three students from the Indian Institute of Technology, including Lakshmanan (Lux) Narayan (pictured). The trio's initial launch was a web application called 'EyesAndFeet.com', which provides competitive information for local businesses that are using/considering using social media to gain new customers and retain existing ones.
The new Unmetric tool has been developed to provide social media practitioners with competitive benchmark data. As well as comparing the performance of competing brands, Unmetric also benchmarks brands against their sector. The application captures details such as fan and follower growth, fan profiles, response times, timing, and insights into content strategies, through a combination of algorithms and a team of human analysts.
It currently provides data on Facebook and Twitter, and includes specific benchmarks for various sectors. In addition, Unmetric offers an intelligence module that dissects the content strategies of brands on Facebook.
