Funding for Crowd Source Tech Firm Thinkspeed

September 22 2011

In the US, Thinkspeed, a crowd sourcing platform for the IT industry, has announced its receipt of seed funding from private equity firm Virgo Capital.

Thinkspeed's community platform is currently in the beta phase and has already conducted a number of pilot studies. The firm says the platform will allow customers to conduct customized studies among a community of professionals in the IT industry, quickly and cost-effectively. It will cover such areas as product feedback, vendor due diligence and buying trends which are currently dealt with by conventional research methodologies.

Founder and CEO Gautham Viswanathan comments: 'Virgo Capital is a strong partner for Thinkspeed, given their experience in software and services investments. Our focus is to build a leading service for IT decision makers such as product managers looking to assess new features, IT managers seeking input prior to buying, and corporate development staff performing due diligence on a target's products.'

Virgo MD Guhan Swaminathan adds: 'Thinkspeed is leading the way in bringing crowd sourcing to the enterprise IT sector. The overall market for research and information in the IT sector is in the billions of dollars. Thinkspeed is well-positioned to capture value by allowing companies to get the answers to their specific questions quickly and cost-effectively.'

The company is based in Austin, Texas and can be found online at www.thinkspeed.com .
