A-Plus Technologies is OBJE Acquisition Target

October 18 2011

US apparel company Obscene Jeans Corp. (OBJE) has confirmed that its Obscene Interactive arm is in discussions regarding the acquisition of social media analytics firm A-Plus Technologies. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Rachel Stark-CappelliEarlier this month, the firm said Obscene Interactive was planning to buy a social media analytics firm, in order to help OBJE deliver consumer sentiment data from social media platforms, and analyse consumers' impressions of clients' brands.

California-based A-Plus Technologies uses proprietary algorithms to collect consumer data from social media platforms in real-time using contextual text analytics and data mining technology. It then analyses this data to provide clients with an understanding of how users see brands and trends.

OBJE CEO Rachel Stark-Cappelli states: 'A-Plus Technologies is developing a tool capable of capturing the true marketing value of social media networks. It's precisely the breakthrough product offering that we believe could allow us to compete with the established names in web and media analytics by providing clients with information that they can't get anywhere else.'

Obscene Interactive has signed an option agreement to 'lock up' A-Plus Technologies for 90 days, and will begin due diligence toward a definitive agreement immediately.
