Change of Chief Exec for newBrandAnalytics

December 8 2011

US social media specialist newBrandAnalytics (nBA) has appointed Sean O'Leary as Chief Executive Officer, replacing co-founder Neil Kataria who assumes the role of Chairman.

nBA develops proprietary software and solutions, including flagship product 'Social Guest Satisfaction', which track guest satisfaction comments posted on social media, pulling out problems and complaints.

Last month, the firm raised $26m in Series B financing, which it is using to accelerate customer acquisition and to continue building its sales model.

O'Leary joins from Genscape - a firm he co-founded which uses patented technologies and proprietary algorithms to provide data and analysis to companies in the oil, power and natural gas markets. Prior to this, he was employed by APB Energy and served as Director of Trading at Columbia Energy Services Corporation and Market Manager at Southern Company Energy Marketing. He currently serves as advisor or board member to six companies and two non-profits, and is already a member of newBrandAnalytics' Advisory Council of industry experts.

Kataria comments: 'Sean's strong track record of profitable growth and success in building and leading a technology-driven information business makes him uniquely qualified to take newBrandAnalytics to the next level. More so, Sean has been an advisor since the beginning - he is deeply integrated with the team and was the clear choice for us.'
