NBCUniversal Names MR and Insights VP

US media group NBCUniversal has promoted Ari Perler to a new role steering distribution research and insights for its cable and new media, and domestic TV divisions.

Ari PerlerPerler is officially Vice President, Market Research & Strategic Sales Insights for NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution and NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution. The newly-created role covers sales strategies and presentations in the licensing of off-network programs and films to cable and new media platforms, and support for national ad sales for the division's first-run and off-network product; plus support for program distribution in Canada, and more general distribution strategy.

Perler joined the network in 2008 as VP, Research in Domestic Television Distribution, prior to which he spent four years as Director and Manager, Media & Market Research, Fox News Channel and then Fox Business Network, overseeing research for the company's TV and digital properties. Before Fox, he worked in Senior Analyst and Research Analyst roles at CNN Marketing Services and Turner Broadcasting Sales. Earlier he worked briefly for Paramount Pictures in the UK. He holds a BA in Economics with a focus on international finance, macroeconomic policy and quantitative modeling from the University of Michigan.
