CrowdGather Launches App for Targeted Yuku Ads

US-based online community provider CrowdGather has launched a mobile app for its Yuku.com platform members, which it says will enable brands to better engage these members through customized ads such as branded interstitials, or concentrated geo-targeting.

Sanjay SabnaniLaunched in 2008, CrowdGather hosts a portfolio of special interest forums and enthusiast message board communities, through which it has created a network for members, forum owners and advertisers. Last year, the firm acquired community-building platform Yuku.com, thereby adding a 'substantial amount' of monthly page views, monthly unique visitors, and thousands of hosted micro communities.

Using the new app, site members will be able to access their favourite forums on their mobile devices.

Chairman and CEO Sanjay Sabnani (pictured) comments: 'Per Google's analytics, we estimate we have over 10% to 15% of our total monthly page views from users on mobile devices accessing all of our hosted platforms and a few of our largest branded sites. Since the majority of those users, particularly on Yuku, are using Apple devices, we launched the app in iOS first, and we are beginning to build our mobile advertising platform.'
