MSLGroup Promotes Mishra for Social Insight Role

Publicis-owned communications and engagement network MSLGroup has promoted social media expert Gaurav Mishra to the position of Vice President of Insights, Innovation, and Social for Asia, to help clients engage people through storytelling and crowdsourcing.

Gaurav MishraMSLGroup operates from more than 100 offices across 22 countries, and has a staff of over 3,700 people.

Mishra (pictured) was previously Asia Director for Social Media, prior to which, he co-founded social business consulting firm 2020 Social, which was acquired by Publicis in 2010. Earlier while at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University, he led research on social media in the BRIC countries, and co-founded crowd-sourced election monitoring platform Vote Report India. He began his career at Tata Motors.

In his new role, Mishra will relocate from Mumbai to Shanghai, in a bid to focus more on the Greater China market. There, he will help develop new offerings such as the People's Lab for crowdsourcing insights and innovations, and PurPle (Purpose + People) for establishing collaborative social innovation. He will also support 1400+ staff based in 38 offices in India, Greater China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, and lead on insights, planning, creative, and training.

Mishra reports to both Asia President Glenn Osaki, and Chief Strategy Officer Pascel Beucler who comments: 'In everything we have partnered on in the last year, Gaurav has created true value for the organization. A true insights specialist, he's also excellent at training staff and guiding clients with the highest level of strategy and insight.'
