Big data marketing app developer BloomReach has raised $25m in Series C funding, with which it says it will double its sales and marketing support in the US and India, and extend its applications to other platforms such as mobile, social media and video.Launched in the US in 2009 by Google's former Staff Scientist Ashu Garg and Cisco's former Director of Product Marketing Raj De Datta, the firm offers a Web Relevance Engine (WRE) which uses semantic analysis of billions of consumer interactions from across the web each day to predict online consumer demand.
The latest investment - which brings the total funding raised to date to $41m - comes from a consortium led by New Enterprise Associates, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Bain Capital.
A proportion of the new funds will be used to 'hire aggressively' at the firm's Development Centre in Bangalore, India.
De Datta comments: 'The future belongs to marketers who extract the maximum impact from the content they continuously create. India is an exciting market not only for its exceptional engineering talent, but also as an emerging e-commerce market, and BloomReach is funded to aggressively invest in attracting the best talent and ultimately serving Indian marketers.'
