Appcelerator Buys Analytics Firm Nodeable

Mobile platform Appcelerator has acquired big data specialist Nodeable, which offers analytics-driven insights into mobile user behavior and app performance. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jeff HaynieBased in San Francisco, Nodeable was founded in 2011 by Dave Rosenberg and Mark Griffin, and offers StreamReduce, a solution which processes and analyzes raw data to find trends, draw up summaries and spot anomalies. Appcelerator says the buy will boost its own enterprise mobile cloud offerings, which include real-time data processing, analytics and data integration.

Appcelerator CEO Jeff Haynie (pictured) explains: 'To accelerate building our next generation mobile platform, we wanted a better way for our customers to quickly analyze the huge volume of data coming in from their apps, in a way that's intelligent and real-time. Nodeable's StreamReduce technology will be a foundational component of our enterprise mobile cloud offering.'

Rosenberg says Nodeable's technology will allow Appcelerator to tackle the 'enormous amount of data' moving from mobile applications to the cloud.
