IAB Australia CEO Paul Fisher to Join Nielsen

December 12 2012

Paul Fisher has resigned from his role as CEO of IAB Australia, and in March will become Managing Director for Nielsen Media across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) regions.

Paul FisherFisher (pictured) joined the online ad association in 2008 with an initial remit to focus on audience measurement, increase staff numbers (including appointing Gai Le Roy as Director of Research), and make more international research available to local companies. Chairman Mark Britt described Fisher as a 'champion for the digital industry through a huge period of transformation', and confirmed that the organization is now looking for a replacement.

Prior to this role, Fisher was National Sales Director at News Digital Media (formerly News Interactive) and General Manager at WIN Television. He also founded corporate training firm Outdoor Mentor, and held senior roles at ninemsn, Austereo Radio Network and Air Lanka.

In his new Sydney-based role, Fisher will lead Nielsen's Media team across the APMEA region, and be responsible for driving innovation and best practice in cross-platform measurement.

He will report to Cheong Tai Leung, President of Nielsen's APMEA business, who comments: 'Expanding our cross-platform audience measurement footprint and capabilities across the APMEA region is a key focus for Nielsen in the coming years and we are delighted to be bringing on board such a high caliber leader as Paul into this important role.'

Fisher will succeed Megan Clarken, who has been promoted to the position of Global Head of Digital, responsible for driving Nielsen's digital business globally, from the firm's HQ in New York.
