Think Big Launches with $3m Seed Funding

Mountain View, California-based big data firm Think Big Analytics has officially launched with $3m in seed funding, and will set about expanding its data science and engineering teams.

Established in 2010, the firm combines data science disciplines with large-scale, open source information platforms to help clients unlock insights hidden in different types of data, including documents, web site traffic, text, voice, video and social media.

Think Big's customer insight solutions offer individual level analytics and algorithms combined with big data technical architecture, while its device data analytics solutions enable companies to use this data to predict trends and provide insight for product development.

The funding round has been led by former Cisco exec Daniel Scheinman, with support from WI Harper Group.

CEO and co-founder Ron Bodkin (pictured) comments: 'Our goal is to be to enterprises what Google is for consumers - the fastest response engine for ad hoc queries. The technology is different from legacy vendors due to its emphasis on helping companies generate real value from the data, and the speed, with questions being answered in minutes, not hours.'
