Publicis Buys Mumbai Digital Agency Convonix

Global marcoms network Publicis has acquired Convonix, a Mumbai-based digital marketing agency whose services include a brand monitoring and social media listening platform called IrisTrack.

Vishal SampatIn December, Publicis acquired another Mumbai-based firm, business and marketing consultancy MarketGate, which offers market research services through its Dimensions subsidiary.

Following the latest acquisition, Publicis will align the Convonix brand with its own Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) in India, to provide search engine optimization, paid search marketing, social media marketing and online reputation management, along with web analytics, usability tracking and access to IrisTrack.

Convonix was founded in 2003 and currently employs over 200 digital ad specialists who serve both local and international clients. As part of the deal, founding members CEO Vishal Sampat, and co-COOs Sarfaraz Khimani and Pallav Jainwill continue to lead the agency, which will operate as SMG Convonix.
