China Office for AMA

June 3 2013

The American Marketing Association (AMA) has opened its first overseas office, in Shanghai, China, and will offer a marketing training and certification program for Chinese marketers, developed by agreement with Chinese authorities.

The AMA was established in 1937 and boasts 30,000 members from more than 100 countries. The new office furthers its goal of being the best marketing resource worldwide, according to www.campaignasia.com , and aims to 'elevate the marketing discipline by bringing training, tools and resources to China that will help marketers to be more competitive, both locally and globally' - as well as benefitting global membership with better information about China as a market.

AMA CEO Dennis Dunlap comments: 'We are extremely excited to open the AMA China office. Having a physical presence in China will further help the AMA advocate for the acceptance and importance of marketing in support of China's business community and economic growth. We look forward to continuing to develop long-term relationships with the government, business and academic communities of China.'

The new office has a Chinese-language web site at www.amachina.org.cn and has developed the training program through an agreement with the Training Center for the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (TCSAFEA), which will launch and administer it.
