SlimSurveys Releases Micro-Survey API

August 9 2013

DIY mobile survey platform SlimSurveys has introduced an API, through which developers can integrate micro-surveys and polls into third-party web and mobile applications.

Rodney RumfordSan Diego-based SlimSurveys was launched in June by the founders of photo sharing site TweetPhoto. Their platform has been designed to enable participants to take a mobile device-enabled survey of no more than seven questions in length, and lasting a maximum of 30 seconds, optimized with simple tap responses through which users only see one question at a time.

The firm's new micro-survey API allows developers to add short multiple-choice polls to blogs, web sites and mobile platforms, in order to collect and display customer feedback. The interface is built on REST, supports a variety of web and mobile platforms including iOS and Android, and can provide data in both XML and JSON formats.

Rodney Rumford (pictured), Chief Product Officer, comments: 'We're going to see a lot of developers integrate this product into their iPhone or Android apps to collect feedback to improve their users' experience. The possibilities are quite far reaching in the sense that this now allows any developer to ask questions and gather responses from their audience, which could apply to virtually any market.'
