Location Data Solutions Merged

In Canada, business information firm APOS has sold its Location Intelligence Solutions (LIS) division to Galigeo, a firm which combines location-related data with business information. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Christian Tapia-StockerGaligeo will integrate the LIS division into its own portfolio of location intelligence solutions under the name 'Galigeo-APOS LIS'. This software uses geographic identifiers to help analyse data from a wide range of sources for clients in a number of sectors, including retail, consumer goods and manufacturing.

CEO Christian Tapia-Stocker (pictured) comments: 'This acquisition improves Galigeo's capabilities to deliver enterprise-level location intelligence solutions in geo-marketing, sales optimization, law-enforcement, infrastructures and compliance, and the investment supports our strategic agenda: continued expansion and growth, especially in the US, and commitment to our strategic partners.'

Allan Pym, COO of APOS, says the sale will enable his firm to focus on its core business of providing platform management solutions for the SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence software.
