Adobe Digital Publishing Gets AAM Thumbs Up

September 16 2013

Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite (DPS) has become the first software of its kind to be certified by the AAM (Alliance for Audited Media), which indicates that it 'accurately measures key reader engagement metrics'.

Eric JohnDPS enables designers, traditional media publishers, and media buyers/ad agencies to create, distribute, monetize, and optimize interactive content and publications for tablet devices.

AAM was the rebranded result of the merger of the New York-based Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) and the Certified Audit of Circulations (CAC).

As part of the DPS accreditation, AAM examined the underlying measurement and reporting processes behind Adobe's per-issue metrics - including total unique devices (readers), total sessions (visits), sessions per device, and average time spent per reader.

The DPS audit also examined the controls within the app development process and the analytics captured via the Adobe Content Viewer and delivered through the software giant's SiteCatalyst package. The AAM audit approach also used live data and tested metrics calculations for the entire system, and worked with several magazine publishers to test the platform.

Eric John (pictured), AAM VP of Digital Services, comments: 'With the increased availability of comparable, audited metrics, advertisers can begin to get a sense of a magazine audience's appetite to consume content optimized for tablets. This certification allows publishers using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to report verified tablet metrics via AAM and gives advertisers more confidence in those numbers. It sets a bar for others to meet.'
