TIBCO Buys Mobile Intelligence Firm Extended Results

Palo Alto, California-based cloud software developer TIBCO has acquired mobile business intelligence software firm Extended Results. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Extended Results' PushBI business intelligence tool provides real-time access to key performance indicators through dashboards, desktop and mobile devices. TIBCO plans to integrate these mobile capabilities with its own Spotfire in-memory analytics platform.

Launched in 2006 by Patrick Husting (pictured) Extended Results employs around 50 staff from offices in Redmond, WA. Following the acquisition, the firm's consulting and engineering teams will remain in the city, joining Tibco's professional services and product groups, while Husting will become Vice President in Tibco's Spotfire business division.
