New Chairman for India's MRUC

In India, the MRUC (Media Research Users Council) has elected Ravi Rao, Leader South Asia for Mindshare, as its new Chairman, for the year 2013-14 - he was previously Vice Chairman, and takes over from Ravindra Kumar of The Statesman.

Also at the organisation's AGM, held in Mumbai on September 24th, the body named Prashant Pandey, CEO, ENIL as Vice Chairman and brought three new members into its 24-strong Board of Governors: Benoy Roy Chowdhury, Executive Director at HT Media; Arun Anant, CEO of publication The Hindu; and Hormusji N Cama, Director of Gujarati daily paper Bombay Samachar and MRUC's Chairman in 2011-12.

Just over a year ago, MRUC awarded the contract for its continuous readership study, the IRS (Indian Research Survey) to Nielsen, after a nine-month selection process.
