Social Media Firm Livefyre Buys Analytics Specialist

US-based social media solutions firm Livefyre has acquired social media analytics specialist Realtidbits, for an undisclosed sum.

Jordan KretchmerFounded in 2007, San Diego-based Realtidbits has developed a suite of real-time apps designed to increase engagement for publishers and media companies. The firm also offers an analytics product that tracks real-time engagement, including replies, likes, social sharing and custom metrics, through integration with popular analytics packages including Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics and Mixpanel.

Livefyre plans to integrate this analytics product into its existing platform, through which it helps brands integrate real-time social media content into their web sites, mobile apps, advertisements and TV broadcasts. In addition, Livefyre will migrate customers of Realtidbits comments, forums, gallery and pinboard products to its own products over the coming weeks. All five members of the Realtidbits team will join Livefyre as part of the product, engineering and design teams, with a focus on analytics.
