Kairos Buy Combines Emotion and Facial Analysis

April 7 2015

Miami-based facial biometrics company Kairos has acquired emotion analysis specialist IMRSV. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brian BrackeenNew York-based IMRSV's Cara software uses a webcam to gather audience data such as gender, age, attention time and 'glances', in order to measure retail, advertising and other real world environments.

Kairos claims that through the deal, it will create the only firm to offer both facial recognition and emotion analysis tools for developers. As part of the acquisition, Kairos has released a face recognition API and a crowd analytics SDK (software development kit), adding to its existing Emotion Analysis API and IMRSV's camera enabled software solution.

Brian Brackeen (pictured), Kairos founder and CEO, comments: 'The acquisition of IMRSV positions Kairos to take a leadership role in the rapidly growing facial biometrics sector. It also helps us, as a developer centric company, achieve our goal of delivering enterprise quality tools to developers and making facial biometrics and emotion analysis accessible to all.'
