Confirmit Rolls Out Offline Field Interviewing Solution

April 10 2015

Research software firm Confirmit has developed a system to enable field researchers to conduct interviews offline, using their Android devices.

Terry LawlorThe new 'CAPI (computer assisted personal interviewing) for Android' solution is built on the firm's multi-platform research tool Confirmit Horizons, which allows users to author a survey once, and then deploy it across multiple channels. As the name suggests, the new app can be downloaded to any Android device and then used by field interviews to conduct surveys without the need for an Internet connection.

The system supports the full range of question types available in Confirmit Horizons, including multimedia support such as image capture. It also captures location and gathers instant feedback at the point of experience.

Terry Lawlor (pictured), EVP Product Management, says the CAPI console is available in 42 languages, including Chinese and Japanese, enabling deployment for multi-region or remote programmes that need to be distributed in multiple languages.
