SSI Adds Location Tool for Integrated Mobile Solution

May 19 2015

SSI has launched a geo-location product, SSI Proximity Sample, which integrates with its mobile data collection app QuickThoughts and survey quality tool QuestTest to provide an end-to-end mobile survey solution.

QuickThoughts is integrated with the new Proximity Sample toolThe firm says this enables clients to collect 'in-the-moment data' and creates 'the industry's only comprehensive, multi-modal product to combine geo-location and behavioral data in a fully integrated mobile research solution'. The solution is fully integrated into SSI's global technology platform.

The QuickThoughts mobile app is now used to survey mobile phone and tablet users in nineteen countries, making use of smartphone capabilities including cameras, accelerometers and GPS chips to improve survey experience, validate findings and set responses in context. QuestTest is an automated tool that tests for errors, abnormalities and mobile-friendliness in surveys, predicting and assessing respondent engagement and satisfaction across multiple devices and screen sizes.

Saran Ganesh, the company's Director Product Marketing Mobile, comments: 'Now we can conduct surveys based on where respondents were, where they are or where we would like them to be... We can target against key locations, including stores, airports, auto dealerships, doctors' waiting rooms and theaters.' Chief Marketing Officer Chris Clarke says the mobile panel the firm has built for Proximity Sample 'gives market researchers access to opinions they need from young, higher income, technology-savvy consumers, as well as people on-the-go.'

SSI has some 3,600 staff working from 30 offices in 21 countries, and is online at www.surveysampling.com .
