scenarioDNA Receives 'Culture Mapping' Patent

May 22 2015

US-based consumer insights and innovation consultancy scenarioDNA has been issued with a patent for its proprietary method for online and offline 'culture mapping', developed to understand the relationship between culture and brands.

Tim StockCo-founded by Tim Stock and Marie Lena Tupot, the New York and Mexico City-based company employs a team of anthropologists and data scientists who use the firm's 'culture mapping' approach to solve a broad range of brand, service and design problems across areas such as education, politics, entertainment and healthcare. This system offers clients market segmentation based on cognitive frameworks, as well as a deeper level of insight into cultural systems for use during the planning and design of products, services and communications.

scenarioDNA has now received U.S. Patent No. 9,002,755 for its method, which provides a semiotic framework for uncovering the patterns of cultural signifiers. Stock (pictured) explains: 'Our intent is to bring structure and efficiency to the elusive area of language. To that end, we are melding human insight with analytics. It's impactful to have machine and human working in consort.'
