July 20 2015

Canada-based privacy specialist Nymity is to open a European headquarters in London, helping companies comply with fast-changing privacy and data protection laws including the upcoming and long-awaited / delayed EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Lauren Reid, who joined the firm in 2013, is promoted to Director of EU Privacy Solutions, leading operations, and will transfer from Toronto. Reid has close experience of preparing firms for BCR and GDPR, having led the implementation of the Nymity Attestor solution, and has worked in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium and France. She was previously part of KPMG's Global Privacy Centre of Excellence in the Netherlands. She comments: 'I am excited for the opportunity to be on the ground in Europe during what promises to be an eventful Fall, with the EU Regulation just around the corner and evolving expectations for the privacy office'.

Company President Terry McQuay adds: 'With a large number of customers in the EU we are very happy we have this opportunity to open a London office to further our commitment to EU data protection compliance and accountability'.

Nymity's services include helping organizations to implement and maintain effective privacy management programs, and to demonstrate accountability and compliance; and it offers a suite of subscription-based software solutions for the privacy office.
