AAM to Enhance North American Media Measures

The Board of New York-based circulation body the Alliance for Audited Media (AAM) has approved plans to enhance its Media Intelligence Center database, and to expand reporting options for US and Canadian newspapers.

The not-for-profit organisation independently verifies print and digital circulation and audience information, and provides analytics for mobile apps, web sites and social media, in the US and Canada. Formed in 2012, by the merger of the Audit Bureau of Circulations and the Certified Audit of Circulations, it merged last summer with ad technology audit specialist ImServices Group, adding to its digital ad measurement capabilities.

The upgrade to the Media Intelligence Center database should make it easier for magazine and newspaper publishers to present customized cross-media brand information to thousands of media planners and buyers. AAM is also considering adopting a survey methodology that would allow US newspaper publishers to 'more easily' qualify and report the Sunday Select-type products; while its quarterly reporting will be expanded to all Canadian newspapers in 2016. In addition, AAM will explore new developments around its work with the cross-industry organization Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), including revising and expanding the IAB's existing Quality Assurance Guidelines, now under TAG's management.

CEO, President and MD Tom Drouillard (pictured) says the changes have in part been driven by the results of the organisation's latest client satisfaction survey. He adds: 'Supported by this feedback, we plan to progress our role as a provider of essential information services and an impartial contributor to the development of the standards and guidelines that ensure trust, transparency and brand safety within the digital ecosystem'.
