Guardian's Former Data Editor to Join BuzzFeed

In the UK, the Guardian's former Data Editor Alberto Nardelli is joining news and entertainment website BuzzFeed as Europe Editor.

Alberto NardelliLondon-based BuzzFeed offers access to online news and content, providing coverage on a variety of topics. Nardelli (pictured) joins from the Guardian where he served as Data Editor, leading data-driven news stories, analysis and projects, and helping to integrate the use of data across the newsroom. He was previously CEO of social media entrepreneur network UnLtdWorld, which was acquired by Guardian News and Media in 2011. Earlier, he co-founded Tweetminster, to use Twitter data to analyse and map political trends and follow opinion polls and elections around the world.

Commenting on his appointment at BuzzFeed, UK Editor in Chief Janine Gibson, who was previously Deputy Editor of the Guardian, stated: 'I am delighted to announce that Alberto Nardelli is joining us as BuzzFeed's Europe editor, covering this patch at such a critical time for politics in the UK. He is a superb journalist with fabulous ideas and we're excited to see what he does with this great brief.'
