Gibson Index Introduces Access to Selected Set of UK SMEs

February 18 2016

London-based small company information specialist Gibson Index Ltd has launched an online service called 'Batch Selection', which offers a selected set of UK SMEs profiled in an Excel format.

Marcus GibsonCo-founded in 2002 by former FT columnist Marcus Gibson, the firm compiles a database of Britain's smaller companies, providing access to 48,000 SMEs across 59 technology sectors. This database also contains details about all SMEs that have received UK R&D grants since 1984, as well as those in receipt of Queen's Awards and E&Y Entrepreneur status, and those ranked in the Deloitte Fast 50 index. Subscribers to the database include UK Government organizations, multi-national companies, academic institutions, finance houses and economic development organisations.

Gibson says that the new 'Batch Selection' service has been established to help clients discover data about both established and emerging SMEs of interest. Commenting on the launch, he added: 'Second only to the US, the UK has the most extraordinary range and depth of top potential SMEs. Many of the best keep a very low profile, of course. In launching Batch Selection we hope to bring many more of the very best UK SMEs to the attention of a wide world.'
