WNS Buys Pharma MR Outsourcing Firm Value Edge

Business Process Management (BPM) services firm WNS has acquired Mumbai, India-based pharma market intelligence and analytics outsourcing company Value Edge Research, in a cash deal valued at $17.5m.

Founded in 2009 by MD Rohit Anand (pictured), Value Edge provides support and outsourcing solutions to global bio-pharma companies. Services include business intelligence and data analytics, market assessments, competitive intelligence analysis and social media insights. The company also provides pricing analytics, patient data analysis, and key account management services.

The firm's staff of 100 people in India, the US and Europe will join WNS, whose BPM services include finance and accounting, customer care, technology solutions, research and analytics, and industry specific back office and front office processes. The group employs 31,340 professionals across 39 global delivery centers.

Commenting on the deal, Anand said: 'Value Edge is excited to partner with WNS, and the combination of our firms' respective capabilities will enable us to help clients in the pharma / bio-pharma industry improve their competitive positioning. We believe WNS' global size and strength will allow us to tap new areas of demand, drive deeper relationships and expand our offerings'.
