BabyCenter Names Insights VP

In the US, online pregnancy and parenting resource BabyCenter, a division of Johnson & Johnson, has appointed Laurie Dewan as Vice President of Research, Insights and Data.

Laurie DewanBabyCenter reaches more than 45 million parents a month through eleven owned and operated properties in nine different languages. Its site provides parents with information and advice from peers, and its products include web sites, mobile apps, online communities and print publications.

Dewan (pictured) joins from digital music service Rdio, where she served as Head of Insights. Prior to this, she ran her own analytics-driven research consultancy Distill Group; was VP Digital Trends and Technology for Warner Bros. Media Research and Insights division; Strategic Consultant for Digital Audience Development at Netflix; and Director, Research and Strategic Marketing at Movielink.

In her new role, Dewan will manage the global knowledge needs of BabyCenter, including trade and consumer research strategy and implementation; while developing strategies to guide the firm's Data team as they deliver business intelligence, audience measurement, and campaign effectiveness tracking.
