TapInfluence Closes $14m Funding Round

US-based influencer marketing specialist TapInfluence has closed a $14m financing round, which it will use to double headcount by year end and open additional offices.

Promise PhelonThe firm's software automates the creation, management and measurement of online influencer marketing programs. Social media contributors with audiences on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Vine use TapInfluence to connect with relevant brands and generate revenue from their personal content, while brands and marketers use it to analyse content. In March, the firm opened offices in Silicon Valley, headed by CTO Eli Gild.

New funding has been led by Noro-Moseley Partners with participation from existing investors Grotech Ventures and Access Venture Partners, as well as new investor Knollwood Investment Advisory. Contributions also came from MergeLane, a startup accelerator for companies led by women, and angel investor Robin Ferracone, founder and CEO of Farient Advisors. This brings the firm's total funding to date to $22.2m.

CEO Promise Phelon (pictured) comments: 'It's been a pivotal year for TapInfluence, with over 300% revenue growth in 2015, and that success is validated by this funding round. This will enable us to accelerate platform development, grow our marketplace and build out sales and support teams, all of which are requirements to maintain our rapid growth'.
