NPD Adds US Cycling Market Data

Retail information provider The NPD Group has expanded its tracking service with the addition of data about the US cycling market.

Jim KelleyThe firm already covers the independent bicycle dealers (IBD) channel, but will now report retail sales across segments such as outdoor specialty, sporting goods, national chains, mass merchants and eCommerce. The expanded coverage is available today, with historical comparisons going back to January 2013.

Later this year, NPD will also launch a US Retail Tracking Service for team sports, covering equipment categories such as baseball, football, basketball, soccer, hockey, golf, tennis, racquetball and lacrosse. In addition, the firm will be expanding its channel coverage for outdoor sports equipment, to cover all US channels.
