BritainThinks Appoints Operations Director

London-based opinion and behaviour research specialist BritainThinks has appointed Karen Clarke as Operations Director, in charge of HR and operations strategy.

Launched in 2010 by Opinion Leader co-founders Deborah Mattinson and Viki Cooke and their former colleague Ben Shimshon, BritainThinks offers strategic advice for political, corporate and not-for-profit clients, while its WorldThinks international division has a specific focus on reputation research.

Clarke joins from financial services strategy consultancy NMG, where for the past four years she helped with the expansion of the team, developing processes and policies, providing HR and operations support, and helping to establish the UK base. She has more than twenty years' operational support experience, with a focus on building procedures in HR, recruitment, training, facilities management and IT.

Mattinson (pictured) comments: 'I'm delighted to welcome Karen to BritainThinks. Her experience will be immensely valuable as we continue to grow so rapidly'. The agency has made a raft of senior hires in the last year, including Edward Langley (Director in the environmental practice) and Spencer Livermore (Partner) this spring; and Victoria Thrift, Lucy Brady, Julia Pitman and Katherine Edwards last autumn. It also appointed three high profile individuals to an Advisory board a month ago.
