$5.2m for Analytics Start-Up Nugit

October 10 2016

Singapore-based Nugit has announced a $US 5.2m funding round from Sequoia India. The firm's software combines artificial intelligence, natural language generation and visual design to create 'decision-ready reports'.

Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in Singapore and currently employs 27 data scientists, engineers, designers and strategists. Its software cleans and integrates data from disparate sources in real-time, adding 'insights written in easy to understand language' and feeding reports into marketers' existing workflow via email or powerpoint using 'smart stories and beautiful visualizations'.

Founder and CEO David Sanderson comments: 'Many of the legacy systems that are being used to manage marketing data are slow, over-priced and take months to implement. We believe analytics can be much leaner and more intelligent, by leveraging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning. Sequoia India's investment will help us accelerate our R&D and push the boundaries in these areas'.
