ComRes Opens Employee Comms and Faith Research Units

February 1 2017

Polling and research specialist ComRes has opened a practice dedicated to helping organisations evaluate and develop internal comms and employee engagement strategies. The firm will also launch a Faith Research Centre later in the year, to improve understanding of religion and belief.

Oliver WrightLondon-based ComRes' new practice offers bespoke research to help understand the employee voice alongside other stakeholder groups. In addition, the practice supports employer brand research, and provides research on broader industry trends in employment. It will be led by Research Director Oliver Wright, who previously held senior roles at management consultancy Hay Group, and at Ipsos MORI, where he delivered large-scale employee engagement programmes.

Commenting on the launch, Wright said: 'It is clear that organisations need to fully align the employee experience with the external brand. In that context, it is vital to use research to understand employee opinion and develop internal communications strategies that equip employees to live and breathe their organisation's purpose, vision and values'.

The Faith Research Centre aims to provide impartial evidence of 'current religious identity, belief, practice and behaviour'. The centre will be led by Katie Harrison, who joins with eighteen years' experience of corporate communications and media relations in local government and international development. This includes seven years leading comms at the Christian charity Tearfund.

Andrew Hawkins, ComRes founder and Chairman, explains: 'We have become the first choice for clients seeking to research attitudes, perceptions and behaviour relating to religion and belief and already have a strong client base within academic, media, commercial, faith and public sectors. We believe that this is the UK's first dedicated commercial capability with specific expertise in researching religion and belief'.
